Texas judge approves emergency abortion; Republican presidential hopefuls debate

A judge in Texas ruled that an abortion could proceed despite a state ban in almost all cases, finding in favour of a woman who filed a lawsuit after learning her pregnancy was probably non-viable. The case is apparently among the first to seek a court-approved abortion since the Supreme Court ruled last year that states could bar the procedure.
